Born into a musical family in 1980, Sarah Christ has succeeded in establishing a reputation as a multi-sided harpist. She performs as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles as well as in orchestras throughout Europe. In 1990 she had her first harp lessons with Margit Süß and later Marie-Pierre Langlamet. Beginning in 1999 she studied with Catherine Michel (Detmold, Germany), Fabrice Pierre (Lyon) and Helga Storck (Munich).

At the age of 21 Sarah Christ was engaged as harpist at the State Opera in Vienna. Two years later she gave up this position in order to concentrate on her soloistic and chamber music career. Nevertheless she performs with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and was invited to the Luzern Festival Orchestra by Claudio Abbado.

In 1993 she gave her debut as a soloist with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. Numerous orchestras including the Opera Orchestra Prague, the Jena Philharmonic, the Sinfonietta Cologne, and the Mahler Academie Orchestra have invited her since. Sarah Christ won a scholarship of the Deutsche Musikrat. She has performed at festivals such as Lockenhaus, Lucerne Festival, Prague Fall, Edinburgh Festival, Tanglewood and the Schwetzinger Festival with Emanuel Pahud, Gérard Caussée, Renaud Capuçon amongst others.

Sarah has formed a duo with her brother Raphael (violin) with whom she won 1st. prize in the BDI competition. In 2002 she founded the Bax Trio (Christoph Renz - flute, Dirk Niewöhner - viola) which focuses on music from the 20th century.

In 2005 Sarah Christ was coach in Mahler Youth Orchestra and SHMF Orchestra.
